The Three Hundred and Twentieth...

Number Three Hundred and Twenty:

Home, Dinner, Pizza

Had an interview for the book with Liz Humes, host of the wonderful book show called Wordy Birds on WRIR 97.3. I think Beth Brown and I did a great job. Beth did well, of course, she has done this before, and while I have been interviewed for things like a t.v. segment for my job and bands, the book was a little different. I think I did all right though!

Picked up a pizza pie on the way home, in time for some Antiques Roadshow!

The Three Hundred and Tenth...

Number Three Hundred and Ten:
Splork, Dinner, Pizza

Last practice before the big reunion show Saturday night at Bogart's in the Fan for the WRIR CD Release party Fund Drive! DONATE TO WRIR by the way! I picked up a pizza, we had some beers, we rolled the set out a few times, had some laughs, then chatted with the Diamond Center as they came in to practice after us. Good times!

The Two Hundred and Eighty Sixth...

Number Two Hundred and Eighty Six:

Home, Dinner, Pizza

So yeah, the east coast of the United States had it's worst quake in the past century, 5.8 on the scale. I was in the office, just like I was for the 2003 quake, when it happened. Justin, our part timer, and I kind of looked at each other as the quake lasted at least 10 seconds. It was a little unsettling. Speaking of natural disasters, that made me want to come home and immediately cut the grass in preparation for this hurricane Irene that is suppose to hit us, maybe knocking power out, and bringing tons of rain --best get the grass done now. So if it happens and we're OUT of internet for a few days, I have a NO POST excuse!

The Two Hundred and Seventy Ninth...

Number Two Hundred and Seventy Nine:
Home, Dinner, Pizza

The Lundy-Ryans came over for pizza then we went to Bow-Tie to see a movie. First, we thought the joint would be less crowded, for a Tuesday, like who goes to see a flick on a Tuesday night! Boy, we were wrong! They actually have a 6 dollar movie special for cardholders or whatever, so it was pretty crowded.

This napstache is like a cowboystache, maybe "stick em up stache" --I dunno. And despite my best efforts to make the movie some parable about invading foreign lands for their precious resources, I still had to go for what the damn thing actually was; Cowboys and Aliens. I give it a C+. SOMEONE in the special effects department really had a fun time with the Cremora Fireball effect.

The Two Hundred and Twenty Eighth...

Number Two Hundred and Twenty Eight:

Home, Dinner, Pizza

Arianna's for dinner watching the short-lived series Firefly; which internet geekdom has embraced like a lost relative. I never had the chance to see the series until now, Lisa too, and so far we are really enjoying it. The geekdom is merited!

The One Hundred and Ninety Third...

Number One Hundred and Ninety Three:
Home, Dinner, Pizza

Last year, our friend Judd Proctor came to a cookout we had, our first entertaining in the new house. He is on the Bellevue Garden Walk committee and said we should be on it next year. We took him up on it. A lot of what we have in the back yard was thanks to the previous homeowner who took great care and love into making it an awesome oasis. We have maintained stewardship, with our own touches, and shared this great yard for others to view today. At least a hundred and sixty or so people came by our place on the walk and it seemed like everyone was amazed in one way or another about it. We had a great time repeating our stories about the places and things in the yard, then we enjoyed a well earned pizza from Arianna's and some wine on patio afterward!

The One Hundred and Seventy Eighth...

Number One Hundred and Seventy Eight:
Arianna's, Dinner, Pizza

It was the first time ever eating at the new one on Lakeside. They have beer and wine now, as well as a ton of wait staff meandering around chatting. Nice people though, friendly whenever we pick up. Our waitress seemed a little cranky or on a short fuse with us, but the giant older man and his wife seated at the booth behind us was getting her life story. Odd how she shared, maybe she knew them. Anyway, the pie was great.

The One Hundred and Seventy Second...

Number One Hundred and Seventy Two:

Home, Lunch, Pizza, Coconut Cake

Mulch Party was today! Basically we had a HUGE, seriously, HUGE truckload of mulch thanks to Laura & John. So we threw a party, offering Arianna's pizza, beer, candy gifts and this Coconut Cake from Michaela's Quality Bake Shop, a great spot we got turned on to by our friend Judd.

So, yeah right, like people would want to mulch all frickin day. Plus, people have their own stuff to do so I didn't really sweat it over people not being able to come. I knew Lisa and I were going to have to do it no matter what for the Northside Garden tour, so I was planning on busting my butt. I was surprised and thankful that we had some friends actually show up, so that was a really good feeling. Pals Melissa, Deanna, Kate, and Paul all came and contributed. Mulch Mountain was reduced to Mulch Mound by the time we called it quits. Thanks to Mulchunkers (Mulch Spelunkers) for sure!

Mulchstache!

The One Hundred and Fifty Third...

Number One Hundred and Fifty Three:

Home, Dinner, Pizza

After family errands, we made a quick call to Arianna's Grill for some pizza pick up. 20 minutes. It'll take only 10 to get there. So we swing into the Triangle Park shopping center so I can go into Corks & Kegs and pick up a couple of Great Divide Titan IPA singles and some kooky looking Bourbon Barrel Aged Barley Wine. That kills 5 minutes, followed by a nice leisurely drive down Monument, and we're put right there for some warm pizza pie pick up. FYI, Lakeside Arianna's now serves wine and beer!

The One Hundred and Twenty-Second...

Number One Hundred and Twenty Two:

Home, Dinner, Pizza

After finishing a pretty damn good River City Limits show on WRIR 97.3. I picked up some pizza from Arianna's to have on the couch with Lisa. Wine included! So nice! I think we are gearing up to watch the Disney classic Love Bug. I know! We walked up to our local city library, returning a book and saw it while looking at the DVDs. Haven't seen it since, I don't know, I was eight? Should be interesting.

Pizzastache!

The Ninety-Sixth...

Number Ninety-Six:

Home, Dinner, Pizza

That's right! MORE pizza! We LOVE pizza! We LOVE LOVING pizza! Arianna's Grill is Northside now and we LOVE their pizza! Oh, and what goes well with the 'za? Rockbridge Tuscarora Red wine, of course! This is me sneaking a Valentine's Day smooch from Lisa while we watch some computer program Watson play humans on Jeopardy!
