The Two Hundred and Forty First...

Number Two Hundred and Forty One:

So many missed opportunities for a Napstache today....but I think it worked out well. I first was thinking that while in Carytown today I would do a 'stache at Cafe Ole, but left my camera in the car. Then I had this great vision of having Beth Brown and Noah Scalin BOTH doing a 'stache with me (maybe) while we met to talk about which stories were going to be in our upcoming Richmond Macabre anthology (with Noah doing the cover), but I forgot to suggest this and take the picture because it was in my computer bag, as opposed to where I usually keep it; in my pocket. Then after Djing at WRIR, Lisa and I went to Mekong, where we hung out at the bar a while after dinner, I left my camera at home in the computer bag. Note to self: to insure Napkin Moustache, just keep the damn camera in your pocket. Lisa came up with a brilliant suggestion as we were leaving Mekong; let's go pick up some Bev's to take home where you can do the picture! Yes! This picture might be the most recent picture to post 'stache! Instantstache!

The Two Hundred and Twentieth...

Number Two Hundred and Twenty:

Richmond Public Library, Snack, Ice Cream

I honestly don't know why I have such a cranky look in the picture, I think it might have been the sun in my face, so let's go with that. Lisa and I went down to our local library for the Summer Reading Kick Off, which not only had free ice cream, but Barry Fox the Snake Guy doing a program about local snakes, complete with live examples.

Barry holding a recently captured and cranky Black Rat Snake.

It was in the tiny meeting room, and Lisa and I each sat in chairs around the walls with other adults while a host of kids sat on the carpet in the middle. A lady who sat beside me was being very nervous, in a fun way, about seeing live snakes. By the end, she wound up petting one with me. Looks like it was a nice turn out for the event and Lisa and I both know, working for libraries ourselves, how awesome it is to be a small branch and have a great turn out for a program. The One Hundred and Twenty-Seventh...

Number One Hundred and Twenty Seven:

Bev's Homemade Ice Cream, Dessert, Mexi Cali Chocolate

I talked Hope into going into Carytown with me, which was great because she got to go to the bank, then meet me at Plan 9, then a quick trip to River City Cellars where David had some beer on hold for me. The kid then actually talked me into Carytown Sushi, a great little place we used to go to pretty frequently when we lived around the area. We used to each get the Sushi Sampler at 9.99. Unfortunately, time has taken its toll and that plate now exists under another title and 4 more bucks. So we split some upgraded thing for 25 bucks, a lot of sashimi kind of drew Hope away, she likes the rolls, but it was still good stuff. She then suggested Bev's and I asked if she was buying. After some chagrining she agreed to buy mine! HA! Only fair since I bought dinner, dangit! Anyway, the servers at Bev's most always hide in the back until they hear someone come in, serve them, then vanish to the back once more. We were the only ones there after some smooching couple left and I started my napstashing with great humor. Continuing the "other dimension" theme from yesterday's photo, I was cracking myself up when another employee came in and kind of caught me doing this one. She ignored it. Probably for the best...

Bevstache!
